Important Reminders - May 19, 2015

To the Parents/Guardians of Miller School Students:  Please read these important reminders taking place this week:


1.       Important Band News! 

         Thursday, May 21 the Jazz Band will be performing at the Art & Jazz Night at
          the Adams School.  The evening begins at 6:30pm but all students performing

          should be there at 6:00pm.

          The 4th Grade Band Members will be having their full band rehearsals on the
          following days and times.  Please help them to remember their instruments
          on the following days.

                Friday              May 22nd from 1:00 - 2:00 pm

                Wednesday     May 27th from 8:30 - 9:30 am
                Thursday        June 4th from 1:00 - 2:00 pm

                Monday          June 8th from 8:30-9:30  am

           Recess schedules will not be changed. On days that they rehearse from 
           1:00-2:00 pm, the rehearsal will take the place of the afternoon instrument
           lessons. On days that rehearse from 8:30-9:30 am, students will still have
           their instrument lessons. 

·         Tuesday, June 9th the 4th & 5th grade Band will perform in their Spring
          Concert at 
Holliston High School at 7:00 pm.  All students who are performing
          should be there at 6:30pm.


2.      Our next Food Pantry Collection will be held Friday, May 22nd. Every student who
        donates will put an ice cream up on our food pantry bulletin board.  Let’s show the
        Food Pantry how sweet we are!! 


3.      Remember When Entries due date has been extended to Friday, May 22nd: A key
         part of the 5th Grade Moving Up assembly, held in-school in June, is the reading of
         a class essay, a class poem, the singing of an original song, a visual representation or
         a technology based presentation.  5th Grade students were introduced to
         "Remember When" in April when they attended an assembly and brought letters
         home with guidelines for participation.  


4.      FIFTH GRADE PARENTS:  We need your pictures for the slideshow that will take
         place at the 5th Grade Moving Up school assembly. Our goal is to have every
         5th grade child in the slideshow.  We are looking for close up group photos  (no
         photos with just one student) of school related events onlyWe can NOT use: 
         Birthday parties, sports photos, girl/boy scouts, family vacations, etc.
 Please send
         in your pictures by Friday, May 22nd.  There are 2 ways you can get your pictures
         to us:

Digital Pictures (preferred): Please feel free to send multiple emails with several pictures attached.

  1.       Email to Allie Curley at as an attachment

  2.       Try to make the images .jpg files

  3.        Please be sure to send only high-resolution photos

  4.       In the body of the email, please include:

       a.       Your child’s name and the first and last name of all classmates in the picture

       b.      The grade and activity (if any) represented in the picture

  5.       Burn pictures to CD and send it in to the Moving Up picture box, located in
            the Miller School 

          (be sure to include names as mentioned above on a separate piece of paper).

Printed Pictures: All printed pictures will be returned to the child’s current
          homeroom teachers.

  1.       Drop the pictures off in the 5th Grade Moving Up picture box, located in the
          Miller School office.

  2.       Label the back of the picture with:

      a.       Your child’s name and the first and last name of all classmates in the picture

      b.      The grade and activity (if any) represented in the picture

      c.       Your child’s current homeroom teacher (so we can return it to you)

5.     Monday, May 25th there is no school for students and staff in observance of
        Memorial Day.

6.     Monday, June 22 is the last day of school and it will be a half day with
        dismissal at 11:10.
