Next week all students will practice a Safety Drill through a group discussion led by Officer Woods, Mr. Keim, and Mrs. Maurao. During this time, we will talk with students about how to keep ourselves safe at school if there was ever an unwanted person in the building.
We will talk about the importance of stopping, looking, and listening to the teacher for directions.
We will talk about what a safety drill sounds like versus a fire drill.
The schedule for these discussions is below:
Tuesday, October 29th: Grade 5
Wednesday, October 30th- Grade 3
Thursday, October 31st- Grade 4
Next week fall conferences begin. We are sharing the scheduled dates and great resource for families to help you prepare for conferences. We are grateful to be partners with you in your student's learning.
We’d like to remind you that when students walk to places like Coffee Haven, The Rail Trail, CVS, etc. after school, they are not under adult supervision. We've been made aware of some challenging interactions between students during this time, which can be upsetting to them. We would greatly appreciate your support in reminding students about appropriate behavior, which will also benefit our local businesses. Thank you!
The Elementary Read-a-Thon began on October 21st.
