Dear Miller Mustang Families,

Happy First Day! The day has seemed to fly by. We are extremely happy to have all students back to school. Here are a few reminders about arrival and dismissal. We are also adding a line regarding Walkers and MiVillage because we had not mentioned them in previous emails.

Upcoming Dates

  • Monday, September 6th - No School (Labor Day)
  • Tuesday, September 7th - No School (Rosh Hashanah)
  • Friday, September 10th - Picture Day
  • Monday, September 13th - Virtual Back to School Night (Grade 3 & 3/4 Montessori)
  • Tuesday, September 14th - Virtual Back to School Night (Grade 4 & 5)
  • Thursday, September 16th - No School (Yom Kippur)

Please do not arrive before 7:10am in order for us to allow buses to enter safely and on time. Parent/guardian drop off will occur in the Placentino loop. You do not have to wait for a grownup to let your child out of your car. Students should be ready with masks on to get out of the car so that we can keep the car line moving. Buses will pull into the middle loop between Miller and Placentino. Students who arrive before 7:25 will enter the building where they will wait for the bell to ring at 7:25am. The school day officially begins at 7:30am.

Please do not drop off in the Miller loop as we use this loop for our small busses and for students who need extra time to exit their vehicle.

Beginning at 1:45pm, all families picking up their child(ren) will enter through the main entrance of the elementary complex and proceed to the Miller front entrance loop, to begin cueing for car pick up in the middle loop by the cafeteria. Once again, a staff member will scan your QR code to another staff member who will communicate you are here to your child. Your child(ren) have been provided with three QR cards today so that you have extra if needed. This afternoon, please write your child’s first and last name in LARGE print on a sheet of paper and tape it to the front passenger side window. Students will be brought to your cars in a timely manner. All cars should remain stationary until a Miller staff member waves you out. This is EXTREMELY important for the safety of our students. Please do not arrive prior to 1:45pm. Buses will depart Miller school at 1:53pm.

All walkers will be dismissed when the bell rings at 1:53. Walkers will exit through the front entrance of Miller and will be walked over to Damigella Field with grownups supervising their transition.

All students attending MiVillage will be dismissed at 1:53. They will be picked up by a MiVillage staff member by the Miller School flag pole at dismissal time.

Note: Announcements will be made at the end of each day to remind students where they need to go.
